Ms. Sarah Lai has a Master of Christian Marriage and Family Therapy (MCMFT), graduating from Hong Kong Bethel Bible Seminary. In Hong Kong, she has worked as Family Minister at an English-speaking international church, as a counsellor at an elite Hong Kong school, as well as counselling through her own private practice. She is a professional member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a certified counsellor under The Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association. Before that, she worked and studied in UK, worked as a social worker, serving multi-ethnic groups, mainly supporting children and family.

Sarah is an experienced counsellor, and have worked with individuals of diverse family structures, including parents, single-parents, children, etc. In working with children, she specialises in the use of Play Therapy, a methodology she found to be highly effective. While recognising that mental health has become one crucial life threatening factor, she dedicates herself to helping individuals and career professionals overcome anxiety and emotional issues, as well as helping those with depression, sleep disorders, marriage and parenting issues.

Coming from a cross-cultural family, Sarah has first-hand experience and understanding of the complexities found in cross-cultural settings. She also believes in the strong connections between the physical, mental, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. Apart from traditional counselling methodologies, Sarah also offers practical and experiential counselling. She often gives talks and holds workshops to help people live healthily. Sarah went to the Philippines in 2014 to provide Typhoon relief counselling for local students and families.
