Counsellor

Provide professional individual, relationship, premarital, marriage, and family counselling services, specialize in counselling families with children with special needs, families with elderly or long-term illness, as well as:

  • Individuals facing challenges in same-sex relationships
  • Couples needing to strengthen or rebuild their marriage
  • Individuals experiencing grief and loss

 

Apart from counselling work, she also served as a teaching assistant for "Professional Counselling Certificate Program" (held by our centre) several times, and she was the instructor of our centre's "Essentials of the Satir Growth Model for Personal Growth (Phase I)" course.

Ms Gladys Chiu graduated from City University of Hong Kong and received a Bachelor Degree in Applied Linguistics. She also completed the Master’s Degree of Social Science in Counselling program of Hong Kong Baptist University and University of South Australia. To pursue her study in counseling, she completed Professional Certificate Course in Individual and Family Therapy using SatirGrowth Model and Enriching Your Relationship with Yourself and Others Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program. Gladys is also a Certified Satir Coaching and Mentoring Specialist and a Certified NLP practitioner.

 

Gladys had worked many years as a marketing communication and planning professional at organizations of different sizes. In 2003, she quitted her full time job and started her journeyin equipping herself with counsellingknowledge and skills.Gladys then worked as a freelance marketing communication planner and a part-time teacher teaching local and foreign primary school students Putonghua, as well asbeing an English tutor for children newly arrived from mainland China. Gladys is a volunteer providing letter counseling to children and hotline service to provide emotional support to callers.

 

She is now a counsellor at Green Pastures and can use fluent Cantonese and Putonghua in counselling individuals, pre-wed or married couples. Her meticulous observations and sensitivity towards clients’ needs enable her to accompany children and people who are emotionally disturbed with confidence and aspiration.She also works as a facilitator in personal growth workshops.
