Apart from counselling work, she also served as a teaching assistant for "Professional Counselling Certificate Program" (held by our centre), and she is the instructor of our centre's "Essentials of the Satir Growth Model for Personal Growth" course. She also provide training and facilitate workshops for other organizations, as well as conduct seminars for teachers and parents.

Ms Esther Lau was a teacher and principal of Correctional and Residential Homes under the Social Welfare Department. Esther holds a Master of Social Science in Youth Counselling, and a Bachelor Degree in Education and a Certificate for Teaching Children with Special Educational needs, specializing in the area of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Esther also pursued a Professional Certificate in Individual and Family Therapy using the Satir Model, Certificate of Clinical Supervision in the Satir Model. She was a small group facilitator and supervisor for different Professional Certificate Counselling courses using the Satir Model since 2003.
Esther was the advisory committee member of the Youth Integrated Service Team, the training co-ordinator of Young Adult Residential Service, and the voluntary adviser of the Pathfinding Pavilion of the Breakthrough Ltd. Esther was appointed as a member of the Young Offenders Assessment Panel of HKSAR for the year 2002-2003, she is formerly a board member of the Evangelical Children’s Home and the President of the Hong Kong Satir Center. In 2010, Esther was the vice president of the committee in the Satir World Conference. She is also the deacon, Sunday school teacher and principal in the Evangel Free Church.
Esther is frequently invited by schools, churches and social service organizations to give talks and conduct professional trainings and workshops for parents, teachers and staff. She has rich experience in children and youth work, she is dedicated to promote their welfare and is especially effective in working with youth facing family, behaviour and emotional issues.
